Simulate PRI E1 T1 Calls
Don’t have a real PRI? Want to simulate E1/T1 PRI on your lab? If yes, then here is the solution.
You need two routers, let’s say 2800 series router which has E1/T1 Card connected on each. One router would be Service Provider’s router and another router would be End Customer’s router. You need to get a customized cable patched in the below sequence. Ensure that the cable is patched as per the below color coding sequence, else Layer 1 will not be activated.
Once the cable is patched, you may connect both of them into the router’s E1/T1 port.
Here is the configuration for your E1/T1 connection.
Service Provider side –
network-clock-participate wic 0
controller E1 0/0/0
clock source internal
pri-group timeslots 1-31
interface Serial0/0/0:15
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
isdn switch-type primary-net5
isdn protocol-emulate network
isdn incoming-voice voice
no cdp enable
End Customer’s side –
controller E1 0/0/0
pri-group timeslots 1-31
interface Serial0/0/0:15
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
isdn switch-type primary-net5
isdn incoming-voice voice
no cdp enable
