CUCM Database Replication Status Offline

If you have been working with Cisco Unified Communications, I am sure that you are aware on how to check Database Replication on Cisco Unified Communication Manager or Cisco Unity Connection. If you are not aware on how to check, my next post will be on checking Database Replication which would be helpful for the newbies.
Recently i logged into CUCM CLI and checked for Database Replication i found my Database to be “Offline” for my Subscriber instead of “Connected”.  To troubleshoot further, i followed the below steps which resolved the issue.

How i resolved CUCM Database Replication Status Offline issue?

  1. Login to the problem Cisco Unified Communication Manager CLI via Putty > Enter “utils dbreplication stop”. Wait for the process to be completed, once completed, follow Step 2.
  2. Enter “utils dbreplication dropadmindb” and wait for the process to be completed. Once completed, follow Step 3.
  3. Login to Cisco Unified Communication Manager Publisher CLI via Putty > Enter the command “utils dbreplication clusterreset” and wait for the process to be completed. It may take 45 mins or more depending on the Database size to get the process to be completed.
  4. Verify the replication on Publisher “utils dbreplication runtimestate” on Publisher and ensure that the status shows “Connected” and the replication state is “2” which means Good.
  5. If the replication state is other than “2“, try to restart Publishers and Subscribers. Once the servers are up and services has started, run “utils dbreplication runtimestate” and verify the state should reflect as “2“.

You have to be patient and very careful in each of these steps in order to get the Database Replication rebuilt. The above method worked for me and i wish it should help others as well.

Cheers!!
